Welcome to Savvy in Gold!

Welcome to Savvy in Gold! A lifestyle blog created by four best friends. We are so excited to share this little project that we have been working on for the past couple of months. Our idea to begin this blog started when we were out for coffee just catching up and sharing our life updates. We all got so excited to hear from each other about our careers, relationships, life lessons, and newest fashion finds. Then it hit us that we should share our ideas and experiences through a little blog. We went back and forth with names for the blog and one consistent element was gold, because hey, girls love gold. Whether it’s jewelry, an iPhone case, or a mirror in our home. We love it. And back and forth we went until we decided on our name, Savvy in Gold.

You might be thinking, cool, another blog… what makes it different than all the others out there? Well, we’ll tell you! We are a lawyer, an entrepreneur, a musician, and a start up gal. More than that, we are best friends and we want to invite you into our circle.  We’ll bring our experiences together and give you our diverse and honest opinions on everything from life challenges - like friendship issues or career moves, to fashion finds and inspirations for your home, to stories from our own personal lives, which we hope will make you smile and laugh with us (your new besties).  We wanted a space where we can share our thoughts and life experiences and inspire women to live happy and fulfilled lives. The goal is to help us become savvy in relationships, savvy in our careers, savvy in fashion... savvy in gold.  

We also wanted to introduce you to the four best friends behind this blog.

Satra, Maryam, Negin, Neda

Negin lives in Northern California and works as a civil litigation attorney at a San Francisco law firm. When she is not working, she spends her time traveling, sweating it out in a Zumba or Barre class, and spending time with the people she loves. She believes in constant self-improvement, choosing happiness and surrounding yourself with happy people, and in practicing simplicity and moderation in everything. Negin recognizes that everyone has something special to offer and values every person she comes across. Many of her posts will be about exploring your tips on how to lead happy, fulfilling, and fashionable & fun lives.

Satra lives in the Bay Area and owns Events by Satra, a wedding and event planning company. Ever since she was a young girl, she wanted to own and run a wedding planning company and after graduating from college, she finally took the plunge and started her own business. She loves being a part of a couple’s most special day and seeing her clients so happy. She loves that she gets to create and work on events that people dream about. Sometimes it doesn’t even feel like work! That’s when she knew she was working her dream job. When Satra is not working weddings, you can find her at a spin class, at brunch with friends, sitting in the sun with an iced coffee or working on developing her business. She hopes to inspire young women to follow their dreams and pursue a career they truly love.

Neda lives in Los Angeles and works at a tech startup. She has always been fascinated with technology and its ability to improve people’s lives, making it incredibly more efficient and more enjoyable. Her hobbies include reading (the last few books on the journeys of successful female entrepreneurs), exploring new restaurants in LA, spotting celebs, discovering fun new workout classes, and much like Satra, finding a sunny spot to sit and enjoy a cup o’ joe with friends! She can’t wait to share her thoughts on the latest in social media and self-improvement.

Maryam lives in San Francisco and is pursuing her music career. After college, Maryam stepped into the corporate work world, but it was only a matter of time till she realized she might have been meant for something else since her true passion is music. Over the years, she has been inspired by her close friends who have used their talents and skills to create lives they love. Her passion became stronger throughout the years and she decided to finally take the leap and follow her true dream. Less than a year ago she released a 3 track demo cd available on iTunes and spotify and is currently working on a full length album. She loves sharing her journey with those around her and is looking forward to sharing it with our new readers.
